Our Really Big Trash Problem

Waste problem

We can all act to support solutions to the waste crisis

Let’s cut to the chase: There’s too much waste out there. On average, each of us in the U.S. discards about 4 pounds of trash every day, or about 18 pounds a day for a family. Parents know well that kids increase waste exponentially — they grow out of stuff so quickly, and only 15 percent of it actually gets handed down.

Here’s the really scary part. Our trash doesn’t just go away. It stays on our Earth for a really, really long time. Our waste can leach harmful toxins. Plus a lot of it ends up in our water, air, and oceans, where it can hurt people and the animals that share the planet with us.

Don’t worry — there’s good news, too. Now that we really understand the hugeness of the problem, we can act to support solutions. And we have more ways than ever before to make those choices.

We know that Woolybubs’ sustainable baby shoes might not fix the world’s waste problem. But we hope our products give parents an affordable, practical option toward significantly reducing the amount of waste in their home. After all, a journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step.

We hope you’ll join us on the adventure.
